Start stop batteries in Kenya

If your engine shuts down when you stop at a junction and fires straight back up when you lift off the brake, your car has a start stop system. That system restarts the engine many times on a single trip, so it needs a battery built for it.

Start stop cars use either an AGM or an EFB battery. Fitting an ordinary battery instead will usually work for a short time, then fail early and can leave a warning on the dash.

Common questions

How do I know if my car needs an AGM or an EFB battery?
The safest guide is the type stamped on your current battery. Send us your registration and we will confirm the right unit before you buy.
Why did my last battery only last two years?
The most common reasons are fitting the wrong type, short daily trips that never fully recharge the battery, and a charging fault. We test all three when we fit.
