VARTA German Battery Hub

Policy

Warranty

Every battery we sell is genuine and covered against defects for a set period from the day you buy it. Here is exactly what that means.

Last updated: 12 October 2026

1. What is covered

We guarantee that every battery sold through the hub is genuine, sourced through authorised supply, and free from manufacturing defects. Within the warranty term the cover is:

  • Manufacturing and workmanship defects.
  • Premature loss of capacity, where the battery falls below its rated cold cranking and amp hour figures on a standard load test before the end of the term.
  • A cell that has failed internally through no external cause.

2. How long it lasts

The term runs from the purchase date and depends on the brand.

Varta automotive batteries

Amaron and every other brand

12 months

The exact term for your battery is printed on your invoice and on your warranty certificate.

3. How a claim is handled

Claims are handled by the dealer that sold you the battery. Testing is done in person so the result is clear and fair.

  1. Bring the battery and the paperworkTake the battery to the dealer you bought it from, with your invoice or your warranty certificate.
  2. We test itThe battery is charged and given a rested voltage and cold cranking test on proper equipment. We also check the vehicle’s charging system, at no charge, so a charging fault is not mistaken for a battery fault.
  3. We put it rightIf the test confirms a covered defect within the term, the battery is replaced. If part of the term has passed, a pro rata credit is offered towards a new battery, based on the months used.

4. What is not covered

The warranty does not apply where the fault is not the battery itself. It does not cover:

  • Damage from a fault in the vehicle, such as a failing alternator or voltage regulator, or a parasitic drain that flattens the battery repeatedly.
  • Physical or impact damage, a cracked or opened case, or contamination of the acid.
  • The wrong battery for the vehicle, for example a standard flooded battery fitted where the vehicle needs an AGM battery for its stop start system.
  • Fitment of accessories other than the ones the vehicle came with, or work by an unauthorised party.
  • Use in a vehicle other than the one recorded on the certificate, or transfer to another vehicle.
  • Fire, theft, accident, flood, freezing, and other events outside anyone’s control.
  • Normal wear once the term has ended. A battery replaced under warranty carries the balance of the original term, not a new one.

This warranty is in addition to your rights under Kenyan consumer law and does not limit them.

We are an authorised dealer for Varta and Amaron batteries in Kenya. We deliver free across Kenya, and in Nairobi we fit the battery at your car, usually the same day for orders placed before 3:00 PM. Where a car needs the new battery registered after fitting, we do that too.
